Background of organisation

The Mission of the National Archives and records administration is to serve american democracy by protecting and preserving the records of the government so that people can discover, use, and also to learn from the documentary heritage

The National Archives is the nation’s record keeper. Only up to 3% of the documents and materials created during the process of business conducted by the United states Federal Government are very important for legal and historical reason that they are kept by the National Archives lifelong. The important records are preserved and are available for people, whether they would like to see if they contain any clues about their family’s history, need to prove a veteran’s military service or when researching on any historic topic that they are interested in.  The organization supports democracy, promote civic education, and facilitate historical understanding of the people’s national experience.

They used social media and  web 2.0 technologies such as online videos on the website to educate the visitors, twitter to update visitors with real time valuable information.
